Guest Mode & Session Claiming

Use the app without an account first and connect your existing data later.

What does this feature do?

Guest mode keeps your data locally on the device. Session claiming lets you attach that local data to a new or existing account later so you can keep everything and enable sync.

Where can I find it?

  • Guest mode is offered during onboarding and login.
  • Claiming appears when you sign in and the app detects local guest data waiting to be linked.

Requirements

  • Guest data must already exist on the device.
  • You need to create an account or sign in with Apple/email.
  • A network connection is needed for the final linking step.

Steps

  1. Use GarageLog360 in guest mode as long as you want.
  2. Open login and create or sign in to an account.
  3. When the app shows the claim prompt, confirm that you want to link the local session.
  4. Wait until the migration finishes and verify that your vehicles and logs are still present.

FAQ

Will I lose my guest data when I sign in?

No, the app is designed to keep and attach that data to your account.

Do I have to use the same email later?

No, the guest session is local. You can decide later which account should receive it.

Can I skip claiming?

Yes, but then the guest-only data stays local and is not synced to the account.
